This year, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift kicks off a bit later (because of the Olympics!) on August 12. The race this year includes 8 stages and a total of 949.7km of racing starting in Rotterdam (the TDFF’s first foreign grand départ!) and ending on the top of the epic Alpe d’Huez 🗻.
Join me (Lindsay) and some fellow queens for a pre-ride (around 20km - route to come!) at 11am and a viewing from 1-4pm at Bellfield Brewery 🥤🍺. We will watch the middle to end of Stage 7 - the longest stage that ends on the ski station Le Grand-Bornand.
There will be a small, fun individual quiz with the chance to win a leader’s yellow jersey cycling cap - brought all the way back to Scotland from France and the men’s Tour de France caravan!
Brush up on your Tour de France Femmes knowledge before you come 📝🚴🏼♀️! Will Demi Vollering be able to defend her title? Will Lotte Kopecky stay on the podium? How many sprints will Lorena Weibes or Elisa Balsamo take?! Will Marlen Reusser take the ITT glory? Come and find out!
Please note: it will be useful to bring a bike lock to lock your bikes to other bikes outside of Bellfield.
***Route to come!
As usual, this is a strictly no-drop ride and we will wait at key points to keep the group together. These group rides are more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing to bring is a working bike - any type will do. It may still be summer but the nights are deffo drawing in, so fully charged lights are a must, and we encourage you to wear a helmet! A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we want to keep you all safe. A spare tube to fix a flat tyre is a must and some tools would be grand but there will always be someone with tools to help out if you need to borrow anything (if disaster strikes, you will get help)
Our rides are completely self supported which mean we will be there for you as best we can but by signing up for this ride, you agree that Queens of Pain and the ride leaders are not responsible for your safety - you are ultimately responsible for your own safety and well being.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:

Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
