Since my house is on the route of the of this closed road sportive, I thought it might be worth a trip, if anyone wants to, to take in some kind of pedaling around this event. A three day weekend etc...
The proper ride is on the 20th May
Can ride the event, ride the route on the Saturday, then watch it come past the garden with some beers and a spring BBQ on the Sunday, go MTBing, fishing, distilleries, pub whatever.
Partners, dogs, offspring all welcome, could make it a mini festival as neighbors keen on cycling as well
In terms of accommodation, we have some rooms in the house, a garden for camping there are loads of B&B's and the pub has rooms, if people prefer.
Can sort collection from Sleeper or Edinburgh and Dundee airports.
Any takers?

As a more realistic multi day trip for 2018, i was thinking about doing this, probably in Sept/October.
Two route options -
There are Bothies and small towns on route, so loads of accommodation options.
Would like to try and smash this out in 4ish days
Info on the ITT here - http://www.cairngormsloop.net/index.html

A few of us had the idea to attempt the NCR 500 in 2018, but start and finish at The Inn on the Tay, adding a few more miles on....
Realistically this trip will take 6- 7 days, including stops in various towns and brewery's/distilleries. In order to make it a reality, I think early 2019 is realistic to get lives sorted out and everything lined up.
I have knocked up routes and there are alternatives for some days. I researched these quite throughly and found night stop overs as well, but everything is up for discussion, obvs.
Day 1 - Grandtully - Inverness
Day 2 - Inverness - Applecross
Day 5 Alt - Tongue - Helmsdale
Day 6 Alt - Helmsdale - Cairngorm Brewery
Day 7 - Inverness to Inn on the Tay

Outliers is a cycling group, based in GB & Eire, formed by disparate members spread mainly around Scotland & Ireland.
This forum is public, however if you wish to comment, then you just need to sign up through the 'sign up' feature on the top right of the page.
Any one can suggest or organise rides, anywhere and at any time. If you want to suggest a ride or organise your own, then this is the forum for that. The dafter the idea, the better, probably. The same goes for socials!
Anything goes generally on here and out there, just be sensible and treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself.
If you have any specific questions that the general population can't or won't answer, then ask @Rob , @Colm or @Ben .
