Hey Hey!
Lovely Anna volunteered to lead her first ride this week. Check out the route below - we'll loop through Lochend, Leith Links, Crommond Prom after which we'll hop on the cycle path back to the centre.
Meet up in front of John Lewis for a 7pm departure!
Strictly no-drop ride. We will wait at key turning points to keep the group together. As always, this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing is to have a working bike - any type will do. Fully charged lights are a must and we encourage you to wear a helmet! A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we are in rainy season and we want to keep you all safe. Some tools and a spare tube to fix a flat tire would be grand (in case disaster strikes, you will get help with it).
See you all on Wednesday!

Babes and Buddies,
We'll do a quick (and hopefully fast!) loop around Edinburgh Central this week. Fast = warm this time of the year.
Meet up in front of John Lewis for a 7pm departure! Adna will be there 10 minutes early to say hi and do any intros/make sure we don't start without anyone.

Hello friends and soon to be friends,

Hello QoPlettes!
It's Adna's turn to lead a ride and she decided to take you on her favourite loop south of the city, up along the Braid Hills and back to the city centre. Depending on the weather we might get a nice scenic nighttime view of the city, or we might be dripping in drizzle and wanting to go back home hey presto. Hoping you can join either way :)

Hello friends!
We've got big news this week. We are launching a new QoP ride. On the last Wednesday of every month, we will offer not one, but TWO guided rides! WOOP WOOP.
Pleasure Pedal run by Ruby: the 1st option will be the usual party pace and social ride which will be a max of 20km in length, with no minimum speed target.
Power Pedal run by Adna: the second option, and new to this week, will be a more challenging / workout like / get out of breath at times route which we will aim to run at a minimum average speed of ~20kph. The route will either be longer than 20km (never more than 30 max!) or contain some climbing. We thought it might be fun to do half a Tuesday Hills route for starters so bring your legs :).
The key point is that both routes will be run as no-drops. Everyone climbs at their own pace, just be wary that we will actually aim for that 20kph speed on the power pedal (hills be damned!).
Everyone will meet up in front of John Lewis for a 7pm departure where groups will split across two routes! Adna will be there 10 minutes early to say hi and do any intros/make sure we don't start without anyone.
As always, this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing is to have a working bike (any type will do), lights, some tools and a spare tube to fix a flat tire (in case disaster strikes, you will get help with it ;) ).
See you all on Wednesday!

Hello lovelies!
This week Kimberly is back with a central city wander. Her last route was ace, so you don't want to miss out on the action.

Top o' the mornin' to ya'll
This week we will go west towards Musselburgh / Porty - route will be uploaded later tonight or on Wednesday. We will keep to the usual distance 16-18km and über social pace.

Aloha!
There was some vibing for a longer route this week so Gabi pulled together a ~30k Dalmeny Loop. There is an option for an early return back to the city at Crammond for a 20k loop. You can decide on the night how far you would like to cycle :). We will aim for an 18-20kph average speed for the longer loop to make sure we don't spend too much time in the dark! But obviously, the same normal rules apply - nobody will be left behind! We will wait for everyone at key turning points.
Speaking of darkness - we are now going to aim for a 7 pm start! We'll see how it goes the next week and if it works for most people then we will stick with this earlier start. Adna will be hanging around the start point ~10min before departure in case you want a little chat (she would sure love it!).
As always, this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing is to have a working bike - any type will do! Some tools to fix a flat tire would be grand (in case disaster strikes, you will get help with it ;) ).

Hey Ya!
Adna volunteered to route this week, which can only mean one thing: welcome to a rando suburbia tour! By popular request (that is one request from @AlisonD) we will go and check out Colinton Tunnel. Meeting at the Meadows - Pavilion Cafe for an 8 pm departure. We're going for a castle finish this time round - because why not?!
The same rules apply: no-drop group and we will wait for everyone at key turning points. As always, this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing is to have a working bike - any type will do! Some tools to fix a flat tire would be grand (in case disaster strikes, you will get help with it ;) ).
Can you comment below if you would like to stick with 8pm timing going forward (from next week) or whether it would be useful to bring the meeting forward to 7-ish? No wrong answers - just checking if this still works for folkettes.

Howdy!
This week's ride and route is provided by the lovely @EmilyThompson ! We are going on a south city loop (~20kms) starting from the Meadows. I repeat: we are meeting in the Meadows, in front of Pavilion Cafe at our usual time 7:45, and starting our ride at 8 pm. Ignore the map above - it has pinned the location in the wrong place!
The same rules apply: no-drop group and we will wait for everyone at key turning points. As always this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing is to have a working bike - any type will do! Queens of Pain Wednesday Ride #16
Thinking of going on a west-bound loop this week. We'll have our usual 15-20km route in the city - probably go say hi to the sea and then back!
No-drop group and we will wait for everyone at key turning points, and as always this city group ride is more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs.

Adna is back with another untested suburban loop. Fingers crossed she doesn't get lost, or if she does, toes crossed that nobody notices. Provisional route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38013354
