Hi lovely Queens--Chiara here!
Naomi has given me some QOP ride leader coaching this week so I'm making my debut and we're co-leading this ride together. Excited to mother-hen you all for the first time as we make our way from Bristo Square around some cycle paths, then back up through Leith Walk and the bridges. Final route in comments below!
As usual, this is a strictly no-drop ride and we will wait at key points to keep the group together. These group rides are more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing to bring is a working bike - any type will do. Fully charged lights are a must and we encourage you to wear a helmet! A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we want to keep you all safe. A spare tube to fix a flat tyre is a must and some tools would be grand but there will always be someone with tools to help out if you need to borrow anything (if disaster strikes, you will get help).
Our rides are completely self supported which mean we will be there for you as best we can but by signing up for this ride, you agree that Queens of Pain and the ride leaders are not responsible for your safety - you are ultimately responsible for your own safety and well being.
See you Wednesday!

Eh-up! I'll be honest, 2024 has started with the brightest bang, so hopefully a few of us can cobble together, get out and have a wee pootle around the streets of Edinburgh. Getting out ALWAYS makes me feel good - especially when I least want to!

My inability to work with tech means the details are in the comments...
Meet at Lochrin Basin, the town end of the canal, before taking a swoop through Grassmarket, and a climb of Arthur's Seat.
Following our way through The Grange, we'll approach the meadows and then back to the canal to end.
Autumn is very much upon us, so don't forget your lights!
