Here's the route. Weather forecast is pretty good. Looking forward to welcoming a couple of new Queens! https://www.komoot.com/tour/1578533665?ref=aso&share_token=avQHH2rsiZtItkZlAidbWdT08xztVi31qjK5uEjtQ9mZA5HUjY

This week we are starting from John Lewis, just in front of St Mary's RC Cathedral. I'll post the route tomorrow or Tuesday (hence the mystery), but with me you know there'll be a short pause somewhere to tell you a wee story about Embra's past. And it won't be anything too strenuous - in fact, it will be just what you know you need on a Wednesday evening.

As always, this is a strictly no-drop ride and we will wait at key points to keep the group together.. These group rides are more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QoMs. The only essential thing to bring is a working bike - any type will do. We're into long evenings now, but fully charged lights are always a good idea, and we encourage you to wear a helmet! A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we want to keep you all safe. A spare tube to fix a flat tyre is a must and some tools would be grand but there will always be someone with tools to help out if you need to borrow anything (if disaster strikes, you will get help).

Our rides are completely self supported which mean we will be there for you as best we can but by signing up for this ride, you agree that Queens of Pain and the ride leaders are not responsible for your safety - you are ultimately responsible for your own safety and well being.

    Hello everyone,

Hopefully. we'll miss the showers on Wednesday, but there is a watery theme as we head south to the base of the Pentlands, following the line of Edinburgh's first piped water supply (well, with me there's always going to be a bit of history). There's a bit of uphill (though nothing like Arthur's Seat!), a chance of spotting the ghost on White Lady Walk, and maybe some Highland calves too! The return, of course, will mostly be a downhill breeze. I'll finalise and post the route tomorrow.

What time are folk setting off? I was thinking of following Adna's route, starting around 4.30, which will allow time for a brief stop at Abercorn Church. Join me and there might be another wee bit of history...(sorry, can't help it).

Marianne, you just have to keep an eye on this page. But there are always a few cancellations late Wednesday afternoon as folk get delayed at work or realise they've just got too much on. Hopefully meet you on Wednesday!
