Hi friends,
Is that pumpkin spiced lattes we smell..? Nope! It's the smell of the distillery as we head along the tram route skirting around Gorgie and Dalry on this weeks westerly ride. Leaving from outside Biketrax, we will enjoy a mix of roads and cycle paths. Finalised route to follow! Please remember your fully charged lights as the nights are getting darker faster!
Setting off at 7pm this is a strictly no-drop ride and we will wait at key points to keep the group together. These group rides are more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing to bring is a working bike - any type will do. Fully charged lights are a must and we encourage you to wear a helmet! A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we want to keep you all safe. A spare tube to fix a flat tyre is a must and some tools would be grand but there will always be someone with tools to help out if you need to borrow anything (if disaster strikes, you will get help)
Our rides are completely self supported which mean we will be there for you as best we can but by signing up for this ride, you agree that Queens of Pain and the ride leaders are not responsible for your safety - you are ultimately responsible for your own safety and wellbeing.

I hate to admit defeat but I am definitely too sick to ride this evening so I'll be passing on the ride lead baton to the very reliable @EmmaC who has stepped in to save the day!
Hope you all have a lovely evening. Miss you!
P.S. If you appear here as a username rather than your actual name, it would mean a lot to us if you update that (it won't work on mobile, it needs done through desktop). This makes it so much easier in situations like this when we have to swap ride leaders! Thanks :)

Queens old and new and everything in between,
This week we're setting off from the Botanics on a westward wiggle around Ravelston and the surrounding areas. There will be some pretty houses, cycle paths and the occasional busier road which you don't need to worry about as we have safety in numbers!
Here is the route for an early nosey or if you would like to have it on you on the day:

Here is the shorter route option. We will follow along the same direction as the longer crew but peel off early for a wee pootle along Silverknowes Esplanade and back on the bike paths to Fountainbridge Square. The route is little under 20km and free from gravel so more suited to those who need to get home earlier or would rather avoid an off road adventure!

Hi bike fam!
This week will be led by Ruby, starting at her beloved geese in Fountainbridge.
You know the drill, strictly no-drop ride. We will wait at key points to keep the group together. These group rides are more about claiming some precious & potholed tarmac space, rather than chasing QOMs. The only essential thing to have is a working bike - any type will do.
the days are long but fully charged lights are still a good idea at this time of year - you never know, you might make some new friends and decide to hang out after the ride! We encourage you to wear a helmet. A small request that everyone checks their brakes beforehand as we want to keep you all safe. A spare tube to fix a flat tyre is a must and some tools would be grand but there will always be someone with tools to help out if you need to borrow anything (if disaster strikes, you will get help). See your glorious faces soon!

Change of plan everyone. We will still leave from Leith Links but we will now be finishing at the Omni Center food market. That way we should be able to hang out together and watch our bikes without getting soaked. Can’t wait to see you all!

Week 108 AND or 2nd birthday week (don’t do the maths or ask questions) so we are having an extra social social ride. Leaving from Leith Links, Ruby will lead you on a gentle ride through the city towards Portobello where we will get some extra time hanging out over pizza and chips! We’ll keep an eye on the weather and move the party indoors if it’s looking too wet and cold.

The end is nigh BUT not for QoP. It’s been a whirlwind of a year. We did an Alleycat and celebrated out 1st anniversary, we did our first Intro to Bikepacking experience, we led a Womens100 ride in true QoP style, we got an FKT (we suppose that was all up to Saz), we lost and found a cat, we broke a couple of bones and made lots of new friends and so, so much more!! Bring on 2023!!

Sorry to hear that Charlotte but glad to hear you’ll still get time on the bike this weekend!
